last day of 826LA summer camp, pizza at graham’s, phase 10, scrabble, yoga
today was the last day of english language learner camp at 826la. it happened to also be bonnie’s last day at 826la. so naturally, we had a food party. before that, sasha from the children’s nature institute brought some animals to share with the kids. a gecko, a bearded dragon, and a coral snake. if you see oreos (yellow between black), then you’re safe.
a lot of the parents made food for the kids and the volunteers. like chicken taquitos with guacomole. deviled eggs. rice pudding. ham sandwiches. and of course, fruit.

in the evening, went over to graham’s for some home-made pizza. i brought over some rasberries, which graham made into a demi-glaze with garlic and poured it over the pizza. i dont ‘know what a demi-glaze is. but it was delicious. sweet, tangy, over a savory pizza of salami and spinach.
we then started playing phase 10. kevin and rachel came over. and then helen. and then geneveieve, afshin, and mary. we relocated our rag-tag group to M&A, played scrabble. pintom is a word. had a discussion about big spoon, little spoon. i’m a little spoon. gchated with rodrigo who is in mumbai. i dont’ remember the conversation much, but kevin was also typing as was genevieve. now, looking back into my chat log, it seems that he’s enjoying his new job at GQ india, launching their new website. started doing some yoga on the concrete. i took a lot of photos with genevieve’s phone, i wonder where they went? ended up leaving around 3am. long night.
