Sunset Triangle Plaza.

As part of the Streets For People movement that has taken place in NYC and SF, Los Angeles has now received its first project: The Sunset Triangle Plaza!  Streets for People “inexpensively repurposes underused portions of streets, changing them into vibrant public spaces, and turning streets for cars into streets for people.”

Roasted Chicken Dinner

I bought a whole chicken through Silver Lake Farms CSA.  The chicken was from New Frontier Family Farm out in Chino, and was sustainably and organically raised.  Having never cooked a whole chicken before, I thought this was a perfect piece of meat to start with.  I implored the help of the girls from the Manzanita house to help me out.

Rachel collected some sage, thyme, and rosemary from her yard.  With the herbs, onions, lemons, and garlic, we stuffed the chicken and roasted it.

Amy carved up the chicken.  I got the wishbone.

Arugula Beet Salad, Roasted Potatoes, and Graham on the side.

csa csp: community supported potluck

the first of, what we hope, many shareholder potlucks.  Tara of Silver Lake Farms graciously invited the shareholders to her beautiful house.  Even the bunnies came!

potlucks are easy.  everyone brought:

- a dish or beverage that serves 4

- a serving utensil

- plates, cups, utensils, and cloth napkins

- a zero-waste intention

new hobbit steps.

Even the farmers who provide our goods were there!  Alex Weiser of Weiser Family Farms in Tehachapi was in attendance.  Tara also read out a message from Craig Underwood of Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark.
